Q & A

What makes a successful project?

A successful project can be judged many ways – good architecture, completion on time, completion within the budget but a successful project is really one that satisfies the goals and expectations for the client, architect and contractor and one that is enjoyed by the spectators.

How have expectations changed over the past few decades?

Today the client expectations are greater than ever with the investment in a new facility. While they all have similar expectations (successful facility enjoyed by all fans) with what their new facility will bring and mean, there is the desire to incorporate specific components that will enable their new home to address familiar amenities that are recognized by the fans. This might be in the variety of food service amenities, specialty areas within the facility that are unique and flexible for adapting to a variety of uses (both event day and non-event day), a variety of seating areas or seating groups and areas that provide and promote the tradition of the team and its history.

Clients rely on Populous to provide their project with a design or the next idea that is unique to other facilities. The design may be a tribute to a special experience or memory they may have had. The design may be the successful integration into an existing setting that enhances the building and surrounding environment. In addition to the game on the field, the clients have a desire for the spectators to enjoy the facility, to create memorable moments and to have the fans experience those special moments multiple times.
